About Crime Solvers

Citizens working together to fight crime

Arlington County Crime Solvers is a community-based program which involves the media and the public in the fight against crime. The Crime Solvers program offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 to people who provide information to law enforcement about a fugitive, crime or criminal activity that leads to an arrest and indictment.

Crime Solvers sponsors a 24-hour confidential phone line, 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) to encourage community members to anonymously volunteer vital information helpful to law enforcement agencies in their fight against crime. After you leave your anonymous tip, Crime Solvers will pass the information to the Arlington County Police Department.

Arlington County Crime Solvers is not a law enforcement agency. Arlington County Crime Solvers is a non-profit organization that is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that oversees the program. The Board consists of business and community members, as well as a police civilian, who serves as the liaison with the Arlington County Police Department.

This is a three-part approach to solving the crime problem. Crime Solvers relies on cooperation between the police, the media, and the general community to provide a flow of information about crime and criminals. Arlington County Crime Solvers has made it even easier for you to report a crime by offering a toll-free number. This makes it possible for anyone to immediately and anonymously provide information about a crime.

Be advised that the Crime Solvers tip line is not a substitution for calling the police. For crimes in-progress and other incidents requiring a police response, call 911 in an emergency, or 703-558-2222 in non-emergency situations.
